Meet the Team: Hera Sultan | L&D Stories
Our longstanding policy at PTW is to promote from within. It simply makes sense to keep these valued employees in the system, as their energy and insight can be passed on to co-workers and future hires. So it was with our Player Support Executive Hera Sultan, who recently moved into a Quality Assurance role at our Malaysian office. Let’s get to know her!
Hera had already worked in customer service for over seven years before coming to us. “Being in this field has given me a much broader understanding of what our customers want and require,” she relates. "I used to play online games when I was in school, and that is how I became ardent about being a part of PTW.”
Though Hera began as a Player Support agent, she has since moved into a position as a Quality Assurance Tester. She shares, “I wanted to move into a QA role to broaden my knowledge and skill sets as part of my career path.”
Though now in a different position, she does see similarities between her previous and current positions: “In both positions, we receive written task assignments via spreadsheets or Microsoft Teams, where our Team Lead assigns tasks to do for that day. But the main difference is that previously, we interacted directly with players about game issues, whereas now we don’t since we work with clients for analysis and testing. We also used to work from home, but now stepping into the office makes quite a difference.”
Hera says she’s learned a lot from her previous position that she applies to where she works now. “I learned that there is almost no room for negotiation when it comes to doing our work, especially when we are part of a team. I've learned that the scope of every task is important, especially when it comes to our clients. In one word: cooperation. It is really a vital thing in any organization.”
Having been through the process, Hera has one piece of advice for anyone considering a change of position:
