Winners and Dinners: the Small Budget Campaign Award

Battlegrounds Mobile India, or BGMI, is proving to be a ground for serious competitive mobile gaming in India. It’s where PTW’s own sponsored team, OR Esports, collaborated with KFC India to create the OR Championship: Legends Rise 2021 Tournament. Their shared campaign was so successful that it has garnered them a 2022 Economic Times Small Budget Campaign Award.
The Economic Times (ET) Brand Equity is an online source of information, news, and opinion on India’s marketing and advertising industries. The Small Budget Campaign Award is given to a disruptive small budget marketing campaign launched by any brand that delivers the brand’s objectives. The OR Esports/KFC India campaign's objective was to help KFC penetrate the gaming community with native OR messaging.
BGMI’s catchy tagline, “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner,” was integrated into the live tournament stream, and KFC announced free “Chicken Dinner” vouchers every time a team won a match. By genuinely connecting and interacting with Esports fans online, OR focused on long-term followers that can be converted to brand evangelists. With 3.1 million total views and 15.4 million impressions, the campaign was a huge success and we congratulate all those involved for being recognized with this Award.
